Abstract

Objective: Evaluating knowledge of preventing and caring for children with acute diarrhea among mothers of children under 5 years old treated at Nam Dinh Provincial Children's Hospital in 2023. Research subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 122 mothers with children under 5 years old with diarrhea treated at Nam Dinh Provincial Children's Hospital from August to September 2023. Use a pre-designed set of questions based on Tran Van Dang's 2020 research. Results: 61.5% of mothers had satisfactory general knowledge about preventing and caring for acute diarrhea in children. Conclusion: The current status of mothers' knowledge about preventing and caring for children with acute diarrhea is still limited. There needs to be appropriate interventions to improve knowledge for mothers.
