THE SITUATION OF DRUG PRESCRIBED IN INPATIENT TREAMENT AT THE HA NAM MENTAL HOSPITAL IN 2021

Abstract
Background: Mental health is an essential and inseparable part of the health. The National Target Program on Mental Health in Vietnam has built a community-based mental health care model covering 64 provinces and cities, integrating mental health into primary health care. The study was conducted to analyze medication indications for inpatient treatment at a provincial psychiatric hospital. Materials and methods: Medical records of inpatients in 2021 kept at the General Planning – Healthcare Activity Direction Department of Ha Nam Mental Hospital, cross-sectional descriptive method. Results: The group of Schizophrenia, Schizophreniform Disorder and Paranoid Disorder accounts for the highest rate of 51.78%, corresponding to the main prescribed antipsychotic drugs. The rate of medical records combining drugs from different groups in the initial indication is high (89.34%), of which appropriate drug indications reach 87.82%. Conclusion: The rate of medical records with appropriate drug prescriptions is quite high, accounting for 87.82%, of which the two causes of inconsistency are incorrect prescription of active ingredients and over-dose prescription
