Abstract

The medical staff, especially nurses, is considered to be a stressful career. Mental aspect is also one of the factors to assess work burnout in medical staff. This is a complex factor that needs to be evaluated in detail in order to come up with a solution that can improve the general working conditions and work efficiency of medical staff. The article is part of a large study on work burnout on 350 nurses working at Thu Duc General Hospital. The report focuses on emotional exhaustion and related factors. Research results show that most nurses perceive themselves as exhausted from work and having to exert too much effort to work with many patients with average scores of 2.62 and 3.28, respectively. An average work hours higher than 40 hours/week increased emotional exhaustion twice, and was the main associated factor. Research shows that it is necessary to recruit enough staff, thereby improving working conditions and limiting the level of emotional exhaustion of nurses.
