Abstract

Background: Childhood obesity is considered a disease and one of the most serious challenges to public health in the 21st centure. Objectives: Knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors about overweight and obesity Obesity of caregivers of 3-5 year old children in kindergartens in Di An City, Binh Duong province in 2023. Materials and methods: 3-5 year old children in kindergartens and direct caregivers in Di An city. Results: The rate of overweight and obesity increases with age, 3-year-old children have an overweight and obesity rate of 4.17%, 0.78%, respectively; 4 year old children are 9.33%, 3.41%; 5 year old children are 12.07%, 20.69%. The majority of people raising overweight and obese children have incorrect knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors, the rates are 78.22%, 69.78%, 73.33% respectively. Relationship with children, occupation, and education level are related to KAP with p < 0.001. Conclusions: The rate of overweight and obesity increases with age and the majority of people raising overweight and obese children have incorrect knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.
