Abstract

Objective: Describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of pediatric patients with congenital inguinal hernia treated with laparoscopic surgery to close the crystalline peritoneal tube and Endoneedle needle at Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 29 pediatric patients with congenital inguinal hernia treated with laparoscopic surgery to close the crystalline peritoneal tube combined with Endoneedle needle at the Department of General Surgery, Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital over a period of months October 2022 to October 2023. Results: The average age of illness is 5,72 years old, the youngest is 2 years old, the oldest is 13 years old. The disease is more common in boys than in girls. Common physical symptoms are bulges in the groin, scrotum or labia majora. Ultrasound results showed that 55,2% of pediatric patients had a hernia. Conclusion: Inguinal hernia has diverse clinical characteristics, mainly manifesting as a bulging mass in the groin, scrotum or labia majora. Most pediatric patients have ultrasound images of hernias.
