FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH FOOT SELF CARE KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND PRACTICE AMONG PATIENTS WITH DIABETES AT HAIDUONG MEDICAL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY IN 2022

Abstract

Objectives: The study aimed at describing factors related to knowledge, attitude, practice about diabetic foot self-care  among patients with type 2 diabete at Haiduong Medical Technical University Hospital. Method: A desciptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 152 diabetic inpatients at Haiduong Medical Technical University from 12/2021 to 05/2022. Results: Factors related to the participants’ knowledge were foot self-care practice (p=0.003). factors were associated with attitude including: foot self-care instruction (p=0.01) and frequent foot self-care (p=0.002). Factors were related with patients’ practice including, frequent foot self-care (p=0.01) and patients’ knowledge (p=0.03). The study results will be applied to develop intervention program which aims at enhancing knowledge, attitude and practice about diabetic foot self-care  among patients with type 2 diabete
