Abstract

Objective: Current status of knowledge and practice in diabetes treatment of outpatients at Xanh Pon General Hospital Ha Noi 2022. Research method: Cross-sectional descriptive study with analysis on 101 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes who are receiving outpatient treatment at the Xanh Pon General Hospital, Ha Noi. Results: The study showed that the rate of patients with high knowledge about diabetes is 94.1%, knowledge about medication compliance is very high at 96%, knowledge about compliance with regular check-ups is 86.1% and 85.1% of patients know about benefit of physical strength, 88.1% of patients have correct knowledge about food choices. Regarding compliance with treatment practices, The rate of patients complying with the nutrition, medication compliance, regular follow-up visits, and activity compliance of physical activity respectively; 92.1%; 90.1%; 83.2%; 85.1%. General summary of patients' adherence to treatment shows that up to 65.3% of patients complied with all four treatment measures; 24.8% of patients  are compliant three treatment methods; 6.9% of patients adhered to 2 treatments and 3% of patients adhered to only 1 treatment. Conclusion:Patients have a high level of knowledge about diabetes and the percentage of patients complying with nutrition, medication compliance, regular follow-up examinations and physical activity is quite high. However, the compliance rate for all four treatment methods is still low.
