THE NEW CASES OF CANCER IN HANOI ONCOLOGY HOSPITAL IN 2023

Abstract

Cancer is a common disease in Vietnam. Research on the new cases of cancer will contribute to the development of the national cancer prevention strategy. Objective: to describe the patterns of new cases in Hanoi Oncology Hospital in 2023. Method: cross-sectional study. Take entire samples according to the selected standards. Results and conclusion: 6,148 patients were newly diagnosed (with 6,197 new cases, 46 patients having 2-3 cancers). The most common cancers include: thyroid, lung, breast, colon and rectum, liver, esophagus, stomach, cervix, laryngopharynx and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The highest age group is from 60-69 years old. The rate of stage I is the highest. However, the analysis excluding thyroid cancer: stage IV is the most common, followed by stages III, II, I, 0. Thus, currently, excepting for thyroid cancer, most cancers are not diagnosed at early stage.
