EYELID SHAPE FOR MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN BY SMALL INSECTION TECHNIQUE

Abstract

The distortion of the upper eyelids due to aging in middle-aged women is a matter of great concern. Objective: to evaluate the results of reshaping the eyelid crease in middle-aged women using the short incision technique. Subjects and methods: a descriptive and prospective study on 65 patients who underwent surgery at the 108 Military Central Hospital from February 2022 to December 2023. Results: All 65 female patients selected had thick skin with late orbital fat prolapse and minimal redundant skin, with a mean age of 42.5 years. All 65 patients underwent the short incision technique, involving fat removal and redefinition of the eyelid crease. The immediate postoperative results were good in 76.9% at 7 days, 97% at 3 months, and 100% at 6 months. Conclusion: Through research, evaluation, and analysis of the results achieved after eyelid crease surgery in 65 female patients aged 35 to 50 with thick skin and orbital fat prolapse causing eyelid distortion, the application of the short incision technique for eyelid crease reshaping will result in rapid postoperative recovery, good aesthetic outcomes, and high patient satisfaction.
