Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the surgical outcomes of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in patients with severe knee osteoarthritis at the Department of Sports Medicine, 115 Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City. Subjects and Methods: A descriptive study of 34 medical records of patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty at the Department of Sports Medicine, Nhân Dân 115 Hospital from January 2019 to August 2023. Results: Postoperatively, the average Knee Society Score (KSS) was 75.19 ± 5.7 and the average Knee Function Score (KFS) was 75.47 ± 4.08, both significantly improved compared to preoperative scores (p < 0.05). The proportion of patients achieving an excellent rating according to the KSS and KFS was 66.7% and 72.2%, respectively; good rating accounted for 22.2% and 25%, respectively. Conclusion: Total knee arthroplasty is an effective treatment method for the patient group studied.
