FACTORS INFLUENCING HEALTH-RELATED QUALITY OF LIFE IN LONG COVID-19 PATIENTS AT RESPIRATORY OUTPATIENT CLINICS, TAM ANH HOSPITAL

Abstract
Background: Long COVID” is a term used to describe presence of various symptoms, even weeks or months after patients become virus-free1. Long COVID impacted severely on health related quality of life. Investigating the factors influencing health related quality of life in long COVID patients has an important role in clinical practice. Objectives: To assess factors influencing the health-related quality of life of long COVID patients. Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional study, asessment health related quality of life by SF-36 scales and describe clinical, para clinical characteristics of 172 long COVID patients in the outpatient clinics of Tam Anh Hospital from February, 2022 to october, 2022. Result: Scores of SF-36 mean, physical health mean, mental health mean in patients with comorbidities are lower than those without comorbidities. A number of long COVID symptoms correlated moderately with SF-36 scores (r = – 0,334, p < 0,05). 6MWD correlated weakly with role-physical (RF) (r = 0,132; p < 0,05) and physical functioning (r = 0,120; p < 0,05). FEV1 correlated weakly with role-physical (r = 0,126; p < 0,05) and physical functioning (r = 0,114; p < 0,05). FVC correlated weakly with physical functioning (r = 0,120; p < 0,05), social functioning (r = 0,168; p < 0,05), general health (r = 0,074; p < 0,05). Conclusion: Quality of life reduces in long COVID patients with comorbidities. A number of long COVID symptoms correlated moderately with SF-36 scores. 6MWD, FEV1 correlated weakly with role-physical and physical functioning. FVC correlated weakly with physical functioning social functioning, general health.
