Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the effects of spinal correction method combined with electro-acupuncture and infrared in the treatment of sciatica. Subjects and methods: 60 patients were diagnosed with liver-kidney deficiency combined with wind-dampness-cold sciatica. Research group (30 patients) was treated with spinal correction and infrared, acupuncture. Control group (30 patients) was treated with acupressure and infrared, acupuncture. Results: After 15 days of treatment, the study group had improvements in VAS scores, Schober test, Lasegue index, and daily function better than the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Spinal correction combined with electro-acupuncture and infrared is a safe and effective method in treating sciatica.
