Abstract

Backgrounds: Neck and shoulder pain syndrome is common throughout the world and causes significant disability and economic costs. The pain and disability associated with neck pain has a major impact on individuals and their families, communities, health care systems, and businesses. Currently, in Vietnam there is still no specific research, but the number of people with neck and shoulder pain syndrome is increasing day by day and tends to rejuvenate and increase every year, but there are still no specific statistics. Determining the prevalence of neck and shoulder pain syndrome will help establish more effective and replicable prevention and treatment education programs for students. Objectives: The purpose of screening is to have an overview of the prevalence of this syndrome in students, thereby providing ways to prevent and treat neck and shoulder pain for students. Screening is also a source of advice. material for further research. Methods: A cross sectional study on subjects who are students of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Engineering, both full-time and transfer courses, who agreed to participate in the study. Results: The relationship between neck and shoulder pain syndrome and gender is highest in women, 63 people account for 55.75% of people with neck and shoulder pain syndrome, showing that female students are susceptible to neck and shoulder pain syndrome. (95% CI)=0.02-0.30 with p=0.029 and standard error SE=0.07. The relationship between neck and shoulder pain syndrome and occupation is highest in people with part-time jobs. 57 accounts for 50.44% of people with neck and shoulder pain syndrome, showing that people with part-time jobs are more susceptible to the disease. Neck and shoulder pain syndrome in students with (95% CI)= -0.33- -0.02 with p=0.025 and standard error SE=0.08. Conclusions: The study shows that the number of students with neck and shoulder pain syndrome is 113/183, accounting for 61.75% of the total number of surveys, which is quite high. Research also shows the relationship between neck and shoulder pain syndrome with population characteristics.
