SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF NASAL SEPTUM MALFORMATIONS AND SEPTOPLASTY METHODS TO CORRECT THE NASAL SEPTUM

Abstract
Objectives: Review of septal malformations and septal orthopedic surgical methods. Methods: The research method was carried out according to PRISMA guidelines. The Pubmed/Medline database was used to search for studies around the world. Studies on septal malformations and deptoplasty methods were sought. The basic information, research methods, research findings were extracted. Results: Out of 6060 search results, there were 30 studies that matched the selection criteria. The results of a review of 30 studies showed that septal deviation were most common septal malformations. The common types of septoplasty methods included laparoscopic septal surgery, followed by Killian surgery, Cottle orthopedic surgery, and Extracorporeal septoplasty method. The methods showed few complications and were effective in ameliorating the septal deformity.
