STUDY OF RIGHT VENTRICULAR - PULMONARY ARTERY COUPLING RATIO BY ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY IN PATIENTS WITH MITRAL REGURGITATION

Abstract
Objective: To study some clinical, subclinical features and evaluate the right ventricular - pulmonary artery coupling (RVPAc) by echocardiography in patient with mitral valve regurgitation. Subject and method: a retrospective study combined with prospective cross-sectional descriptive study on 75 patients with moderate and severe mitral valve regurgitation at Military Hospital 103 and Central Military Hospital 108 from January 2022 to May 2024. Results: 75 patients included in the study had an average of age 61,2 ± 12,37 years, the majority was male (64%), the right ventricular - pulmonary artery coupling ratio (TAPSE/PAPs) was 0,47 ± 0,16. Concurrently, the RVPAc ratio has the ability to predict the risk of atrial fibrillation and heart failure with OR of 6 and 3,69 respectively (p < 0,05). Conclusion: The RVPAc ratio in patients with mitral valve regurgitation is lower than ordinary person and has predictive value in some clinical events (cutoff point 0.55) in patients with mitral valve regurgitation.
