Abstract

Aim: Describe clinical and paraclinical characteristics of pregnant women with gestational diabetes at Vinmec Times City International Hospital. Results: The average age of pregnant women was 33.6 ± 4.88 years old, of which 40.58% of pregnant women were 35 years old or older. Gestational diabetes was detected at weeks 24 - 28 with 84.98%; before 24 weeks was 7.73%. The average weight gain before detecting gestational diabetes was 7.38 ± 3.33 kg, weights gain from 6kg to 9kg was 37.77% and 9kg or more was 27.47%. The whole process of gaining over 12kg was 47.21% (of which gaining above 18kg was 11.6%) and gaining under 8kg was 16.31%. Hypertension/preeclampsia was 3.86%. Oral glucose tolerance test – OGTT was ≥ 5.1mm/l is 15,88%; After OGTT- 1 hour, there were 63,95% were ≥ 10mm/l and after OGTT-2 hours, 88,41% were ≥ 8.5 mm/l. There were 11.69% glycosuria was found in pregnant women; 14.72% had proteinuria; 28.45% leukocyturia and 12.88% had polyhydramnios. Conclusion: The average age of pregnant women was 33.6 ± 4.88 years old, of which 40.58% of pregnant women ≥ 35 years old. Gestational diabetes was detected at weeks 24 - 28 with 84.98%. Hypertension/preeclampsia was 3.86%. There werw polyhydramnios at the time of diagnosis.
