RESULTS OF IMPLEMENTING "CODE STEMI" AT THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT OF VINMEC TIMES CITY INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the emergency alert protocol for the management of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (abbreviated as Code STEMI) at Vinmec Times City Hospital. Subjects and Methods: A retrospective descriptive study was conducted on 23 STEMI patients who underwent Code STEMI activation and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) from January 2023 to December 2024. Results: The median door-to-balloon time was 58 minutes (mean 66.8 ± 22.2 minutes), with 95.6% of patients meeting the ≤90-minute target. The average time to ECG was 3 minutes, and transfer time to the catheterization lab was approximately 4 minutes. The successful revascularization rate was 95.6%, in-hospital survival rate was 91.3%, and the average length of hospital stay was 5 days. Conclusion: The results demonstrate that a well-structured Code STEMI protocol, with effective staff training and interdisciplinary coordination, can optimize door-to-balloon time and improve clinical outcomes for STEMI patients.
