Abstract

Objective: To describe the knowledge and practice of anaphylaxis management of nurses, midwives, and technicians at Cam Khe Regional Medical Center in 2025 and analyze some related factors. Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 139 medical staff in 11 departments. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on Circular 51/2017/TT-BYT. Knowledge was considered satisfactory when ≥12/17 questions were answered correctly; practice was considered satisfactory when all 3 situations were answered correctly. Descriptive statistical analysis and logistic regression were used. Results: The rate of knowledge achievement on anaphylaxis was 74.1%. The rate of practice achievement was only 52.5%. Some important knowledge contents were limited, especially recognizing respiratory and digestive symptoms of anaphylaxis. The group of staff with achieved knowledge had the ability to practice correctly 5.86 times higher than the group that did not achieve (p < 0.001); staff trained for ≤ 1 year had better practice ability than the group > 1 year (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Medical staff at Cam Khe Regional Medical Center had relatively good knowledge of anaphylaxis management; practice in anaphylaxis management was limited, especially in early symptom recognition and situation handling. Knowledge and training time were closely related to practice ability.
