AESTHETIC RESULTS OF BREAST RECONSTRUCTION WITH IMPLANT AND AFFECTING FACTORS

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate aesthetic results of breast reconstruction with implant and related factors. Patient and methods: Combined retrospective and prospective description study in 51 breast cancer patients who underwent SSM or NSM and reconstruction with implants at K Hospital from January 2016 to October 2019. Results: Aesthetic score were at a excellent and good level at 1 month, 1 year, and 2 years after surgery was 82,4%; 76,5%; 70,5%, respectively. The patients group with adjuvant radiotherapy and with capsular contracture had lower aesthetic score than the patients group without radiotherapy and without capsular contracture. Conclusion: Immediate breast reconstruction with implant had good aessthetic results, with aessthetic deterioration over time and in the group of patients treated with adjuvant radiotherapy.
