ASSOCIATION BETWEEN CORONARY ARTERY CALCIUM SCORE, SELECTED CARDIOVASCULAR RISK FACTORS, AND THE SEVERITY OF CORONARY ARTERY STENOSIS ON COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY IN PATIENTS WITH SUSPECTED CHRONIC CORONARY SYNDROME
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association between coronary artery calcium score, several cardiovascular risk factors, and the severity of coronary artery stenosis on computed tomography in patients with chronic coronary syndrome.
Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 148 patients suspected of having chronic coronary syndrome who underwent coronary computed tomography angiography.
Results: The coronary artery calcium score in this study was 45 [7–175], ranging from 0 to 1364. A total of 20.3% of patients had significant coronary artery stenosis. The total number of risk factors and the coronary artery calcium score were independently associated with significant coronary artery stenosis. The calcium score showed good predictive value for significant coronary artery stenosis with an AUC of 0.807.
