Abstract
Study aim
Evaluation of clinical and paraclinical characteristics of Fournier gangrene.
Surgical treatment result and Review of Literature.
Patient and methode: Retrospective study, series cases report.
Results:
There were 4 patients, male 75%, female 25%,mean age 47,25 years; diabetes mellitus 75%. Clinical feature: pain, swelling, erythema in perineal and perianal areas which srpeading to scrotum in 75% with fever. White blood cell counts > 16 G/L in 75%.
The source is anorectal in 75%. MRI revealed abscesses situated at perianal and perineal areas in 100%.
Surgical Procedure: Wide debridement of the necrotic tissue and broad spectrum intravenous antimicrobial therapy with colostomy in 75%, with cystostomy in 25%, associated with fistulectomy in 50%. Purulent cultures were E Coli in 75%, negative in 25%. The average hospital stay was 19,75 days. 1 patent died of septic shock (25%).
Conclusion: There were 4 patients, male 75%, female 25%, mean age 47,25 years.
