Abstract

Objective: Evaluate flap necrosis rate and affecting factors in breast cancer women treated with total mastectomy and breast reconstruction using TRAM flap. Methods: A retrospective study based on 99 patients undergoing TRAM flap breast reconstruction at K Hospital from 2017 to 2021. Results: general flap necrosis rate was 14.1%, fat necrosis was the most common with 6.1%. Age, obesity, large volume breast and adjuvant radiotherapy were in relation to flap necrosis rate. Conclusions: flap necrosis was one ofthe most common complications of breast reconstruction using TRAM flap. Choosing suitable patients could reduce post-operative complication rate.
