RESOLUTION PHASE OF SEXUAL RESPONSE CYCLE IN PATIENT WITH MANIA

Abstract

Our study aimed to investigate resolution phase of sexual response cycle in manic patients treated in Institute of Mental Health - Bach Mai hospital. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study, included 60 patients diagnosed with mania  according to ICD-10 criteria (including diagnostic codes: F30, F31.0, F31.1, F31.2). Results: the mean  age of manic patients was 33.3 ± 11.2 years old. There were more women than men,and the female/male ratio was about 1.3/1. Majority of patients were satisfied after having sex (83.4%). After sex, the most common actitivity was hugging 41.7%, followed by kissing and the lowest rate was doing nothing. This ratio was similar for men and women. Most of the manic patients can have the second intercourse with the rate wass71.7% and the percentage of the third intercourse was 28.3%. The rate of satisfaction with the number of sexual intercourse was 45%.
