RESEARCH ON CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND SOME BLOOD BIOCHEMICAL INDICES IN PATIENTS WITH ALCOHOL INDUCED PSYCHOTIC DISORDER

Abstract
Objectives: Clinical characteristics and some blood biochemical indices in patients with alcohol induced psychotic disorder. Subject and methods: Descriptive research, cross-section; rate of clinical characteristics in 31 alcohol-induced psychotic inpatient treatment at the Department of psychiatry, 103 Military Hospital from April 2021 to March 2022. Results: The common age group > 40 years old accounts for 83.8% with mean age of 47.45± 7.19, 100% male. The average daily alcohol intake was 539.68 ± 176.08 ml and the duration of alcohol dependence (years) was 16.1 ± 5.94 years. 19.4% had a family history of alcoholism and 61.3% had a combined physical diseases. Psychotic symptoms: only delusions accounted for 16.1%, only hallucination 38.7%, and both delusion and hallucination accounted for 45.2%. 29% persecutory delusion and 41.9% delusion of jealousy. 64.5% visual hallucination, 35.5% auditory hallucination, 19.4% rudimentary hallucination and tactile hallucination only 6.5%. Other disorders: Decrease in short-term memory with 67.7%, 64.5% decrease in concentration of attention and 29% decrease in long-term memory. Some blood biochemical indices: Glucose reached an average value of 7.64± 3.48 mmol/l, Protein: 70.12± 8.36 g/l, Albumin: 37.76± 5.68 g/l. Level of 3 enzyme GOT, GPT, GGT at 162.19 ± 172.41; 72.92± 72.65; 866.54 ±1140.97 U/l, respectively. Conclusion: Patients with alcohol induced psychotic disorder at mostly middle-aged or older men with heavy years of alcohol dependence and high alcohol consumption. Persecutory delusion and visual hallucination are common. Most of patients have physical diseases associated with hight level of Glucose, GOT, GPT, and GGT in blood.
