OUTCOME OF MICROSURGERY CPA TUMORS IN VIETDUC HOSPITAL

Abstract
Microsurgery results on 60 patients with cerebellopontine angle (CPA) tumors: neuromas accounted for 34 patients (56.6%), meningiomas in 18 patients (30%). Postoperative complications included: fever in 2 patients, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak in 2 patients, hemiplegia in 1 pt, hydrocephalus in 1 pt. No major complications, no deaths. Postoperative sequelae 6 months including: facial paralysis 28.3%, hemiplegia and subdural hematoma in 1 patient. The rate of functional paralysis of cranial nerve VII was less in the group using the NIM system during surgery. The results of the MRI were 42 patients (70%) without tumor image.
