KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, AND PRACTICE TOWARDS PREVENTION OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC AMONG CITIZENS AT TAN PHU DISTRICT HOSPITAL

Abstract
Background: Current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic is intricate processes and instability all over the world. Two main measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Vietnam are social distancing and border restrictions. Although these measures are effective, their cause is vulnerable to social and economic effects. Because of this, the Vietnam government changed its strategy to prevent the COVID-19 spread of diseases in the community. However, efficient measurement depends on the citizens’ awareness and practice. Therefore, the objective of this study was to know about the knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) towards COVID-19 of citizens since then provide a proper guideline and propaganda policy to ensure people are doing the right thing to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic in the community. Objectives: Assessing the percentage of citizens’ KAP and related factors of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 334 patients and their relatives aged 18 and up at Tan Phu District Hospital. Results: The proper KAP prevention percentage of COVID-19 pandemic was 73,7%, 94,9% and 82,3% respectively. Conclusions: The percentage of citizens at Tan Phu District Hospital has a relatively high KAP. It is a positive sign with COVID-19 prevention and control in the community, yet the government continues to propagandize, guide, and educate citizens to deepen and broaden their understanding and practice.
