Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the outcome of early rehabilitation in patients after total knee arthroplasty surgery due to osteoarthritis. Subject and methods: this is a study of 66 patients aged 18-70 years who were treat total knee arthroplasty surgery after knee osteoarthritis at Viet Duc hospital in 2021-2022. Results: at discharge and after 1 month, the average of VAS deacreased from 5.7 to 3.5 and 2.4, the pain was maily mind or moderate. Improved ROM in both flexion and extension of the knee at discharge and after 1 month. LEFS and KSS are improved. The patients can walk with crutch or without the use of assistive devices when walking, the patients can walk a distance of >250m after 1 month. Conclusions: early rehabilitation after total knee arthroplasty help patients improve pain levels, joint ROM, and knee function.
