KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, PRACTICE OF PREGNANCY WOMEN AND MOTHERS RAISING CHILDREN ABOUT FOOD HYGIENE AND SAFETY IN SOME PROVINCES/CITY IN 2020-2021

Abstract
Research objective: To assess the current status of knowledge, attitudes, and practices of pregnant women and mothers raising children under 36 months old about food hygiene and safety in some provinces/cities in 2020-2021. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study, interviewing 1,050 pregnant women and 1,050 mothers raising children under 36 months old in 6 provinces/cities. Assessment of knowledge, attitudes and practices about food hygiene and safety. Results: The percentage of pregnant women and mothers raising children with correct knowledge, attitudes and practices on food safety and hygiene in 6 provinces/cities is still low and the lowest in Dak Lak province. For pregnant women, 65.0% achieved knowledge, 69.1% reached attitude and 65.1% about food safety and hygiene practice. For mothers raising children under 36 months old, 75.0% achieved knowledge, 54.1% achieved attitude and 56.0% achieved practice on food safety and hygiene. Conclusion: The percentage of pregnant women and nursing mothers with correct knowledge, attitudes and practices on food safety and hygiene is still low.
