Abstract

Backgroud: Health worker motivation can potentially affect the provision of health services. Low morale among the workforce can undermine the quality of service provision and drive workers away from the profession. While the presence of high-quality, motivated staff is a key aspect of health system performance, it is also one of the most difficult factors to measure. Objectives: To describe of working motivation of health worker and to determine the factors affected the working motivation of health workers at health centers at district, town and city in Binh Duong province in 2022.Materials and method: A cross-sectional study was carried on 342 health worker at health centers at district, town and city in Binh Duong province.Results: Health worker had high satisfaction about the nature of work, work environment, leadership, colleagues, working motivation. However, health workers also have high dissatisfaction in recognition, income and benefits, training and promotion opportunities. The level of general satisfaction about all factors of employee's work motivation is significantly different between age groups and working departments. The age group 41-50 years old has the highest level of satisfaction and decreases with decreasing age. Regarding the working department, the administrative department has the highest satisfaction level, followed by the foreign and internal departments and the lowest is other departments.Conclusion: Improving health worker satisfaction and morale important for health worker retention.
