Abstract

Background: Post-COVID-19 is a newly discovered disease, it has the potential to lead to major medical issues. It can be easier to forecast post-COVID-19 and create the proper care with a better understanding of the post-COVID-19 condition and its risk factors. Objectives: The study had two goals when it was conducted: 1. To determine the prevalence of COVID-19 disease and related factors among individuals in Binh Duong province in 2022. 2. To determine the prevalence of post-COVID-19 symptoms and associated factors among individuals in Binh Duong province. Materials and method: a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted on 667 people aged 18 and over in Binh Duong province in 2022. Results: Results of the study indicated that 27.3% had COVID-19 infection. The study did not find a statistically significant difference between the people's age group, gender, education level and COVID-19 infection. Of the 182 people who had ever had COVID-19, 59.3% had post-COVID-19 symptoms. Common post-COVID-19 symptoms: fatigue 53.7%, cough 43.5%, headache 27.8%, shortness of breath 21.3%. Factors associated with post-COVID-19 symptoms: advanced age, female gender, severity of illness, medical condition. Conclusion: It is necessary to strengthen the provision of comprehensive post-COVID-19 health care services to the people, especially paying attention to patients with severe illness in order to reduce the patient's disease burden and recover quality of life for patients.
