Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate the relationship between Dynamic Pelvic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DP-MRI) characteristics and clinic on the patients with conservative uterine prolapse surgery. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 19 patients with clinical symptoms of uterine prolapse, underwent DP-MRI and conservative repair surgery at Hanoi Medical University Hospital from October 2021 to November 2022. Results: Mean age was 67,47 ± 11,29, most of them (95 %) were over 50 y.o. The mean birthrate was 2,37 ± 1.0, in which the number of twice giving birth was 85%, mostly in vaginal delivery (90%). Palpable intra-vaginal mass was the most common clinical symptoms and usually associated with defecation and/or urinate problem. The rate of associate cystocele, peritonela prolapse in each degree of uterine prolapse on DP-MRI was statistically significant differentce (95% CI).  However, there was no statistically significant difference between the degree of uterine prolapse/vaginal vault and the ratio of associated rectocele/rectal prolapse. There is a very low consensus between the clinical and the DP-MRI on the uterus prolapse grading. Conclusion: Dynamic Pelvic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DP-MRI) played an important role in the grading of uterus prolapse and in the evaluation of associated lesions, contributed to a better surgical prognosis.
