FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH PRACTICE OF CLINICAL BREAST EXAMINATION ON BREAST CANCER AMONG FEMALE WORKERS IN TEXTILE ENTERPRISES IN HANOI AND HO CHI MINH

Abstract
Objective: Describe practice of clinical breast examination on breast cancer and the analyzing a number of factors related to practice of screening mammography of female workers at enterprises in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 1036 female workers of 4 textile enterprises in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Results: the percentage of female workers who successfully practice of clinical breast examination at specialized medical facilities is low (22.8%), of which 22.4% have visited a specialized health facility and 20.2% have been examined. Factors such as: the subject has no personal history of breast diseases; the group did not receive information on prevention and early detection of cancer; and the group did not have knowledge about periodic clinical breast examination at specialized medical facilities related to clinical breast examination practice with OR (2.30), (2.04) and (1.65) respectively; and p < 0.05. Conclusion: the practice rate of clinical breast examination among female workers is low. It is necessary to provide information to improve the knowledge and skills of female workers in clinical breast examination in the breast cancer room.
