CURRENT STATUS OF BREAST CANCER CARE PATIENTS RECEIVING CHEMOTHERAPY AND RELATED FACTORS AT THE ONCOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF KIEN GIANG GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2020-2021

Abstract
Objectives: (1) Describe the characteristics of breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy at the Oncology Department of Kien Giang General Hospital. (2) Analyze the results of patient care and some related factors. Results: The majority of the age group 40-60 years old is 65.2%, the lowest under 40 years old accounts for 10.4%. Most of them are in rural areas with 66.1%; The highest is business/housewife accounting for 54.8%, office workers accounted for only 2.6%. Marriage: married 86.9%, 13.1% divorced. Having a habit of eating a lot of fried food accounts for 55.6%; The most patients in stage III are 50.4%, followed by stage IV (31.3%); stage II is (12.2%) and the lowest is stage I (6.1%). Current status of chemical side effects on the digestive system, hair: nausea 65.2%; 34.8% had vomiting at week 1. After 3 weeks, the vomiting rate decreased to 21.7%; nausea 78.3%; hair loss: 55.6%. The most common side effects on the skin are rash, edematous rash, mild edematous rash 40%, ulcerated oral mucosa, but patients with ulcer still eat 20.0%; 2.6% of subjects had an inedible ulcerative edematous rash. numbness but no effect on function 38.3%; loss of sensation, numbness, affecting function but not affecting daily activities 20.0%; The rate of loss of sensation/numbness affecting daily activities and permanent loss of sensation accounted for 4.3%. Psychological care activities for patients during chemotherapy treatment. The nursing care outcome was rated as good 89.6%; 10.4% of care results are not good. 96.6% of patients are very satisfied with nursing care; 3.4% of patients have satisfaction level. Relationship with age, with adverse effects on the nervous system and outcome of care, p < 0.05.
