EVALUATION OF CHANGES IN THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE ON DIALYSIS AT NAM DINH GENERAL HOSPITAL AFTER HEALTH EDUCATION

Abstract
Objectives: Evaluation of changes in the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis at Nam Dinh General Hospital after health education. Methods: An intervention study: compare the quality of life of 53 patients with CKD on dialysis before and after health education at Nam Dinh General Hospital from April to September, 2021. Results: The overall scores have increased significantly after the intervention. In detail, the mean quality of life score SF36 has increased from 31.45 ± 9.86 to 35.06 ± 8.66 (one month after education intervention), and the respective number after 3 months was 37.28 ± 8.24; The score of kidney disease problems at baseline was 45.92 ± 7.98, increased to 48.86 ± 9.62 after 1 month of intervention and 49.80 ± 6.98 after 3 months of intervention; Overall quality of life score of patients at baseline was 38.68 ± 7.57, increased to 41.96 ± 6.48 after 1 month of intervention to 43.55 ± 6.32 after 3 months of intervention. The differences were statistically significant with p < 0.05. Conclusion: The health education program has significantly contributed to improving the quality of life of patients with CKD on dialysis.
