ASSESSMENT OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY AFTER ENDOVENOUS LASER INTERVENTION BY CIVIQ-14 SCALE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: Evaluation of changes in quality of life of patients with chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities before and after Endovenous Laser intervention. Methods: This is a retrospective case series study to evaluate the quality of life of patients with chronic venous insufficiency treated with endovascular laser using the CIVIQ-14 scale. Results: From January 2020 to June 2021 at the Department of Thoracic - Vascular Surgery, University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh city, 103 patients (156 legs) were performed endovascular laser procedures with wavelength 1470nm, 53 patients with both legs. 50 patients with 1 leg intervention. In which, 66 female (64%), 37 male (36%), mean age 55.2 ± 11.8 (27 - 70). 52/103 patients (50.5%) were accompanied by Muller surgery. The average CIQIV-14 score changes before and after the procedure: Pain, Physical and Psychological aspects respectively 2.6 ± 2.6; 5.2 ± 4.6 and 5.8 ± 5.4; the change of total mean score 13.7 ± 7.5. All patients were satisfied 40.8% or very satisfied 59.2%. Conlusion: the change of Pain, Physical and Psychological aspects through a set of 14 questions in the CIVIQ-14 scale. The results show a clear and statistically significant change. 100% of patients are satisfied or very satisfied after the procedure. There are 59.2% satisfied and 40.8% very satisfied.
