THE RATE OF SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION AND RELATED FACTORS IN WOMEN OF CHILDBEARING AGE AFTER SARS-COV-2 INFECTION

Abstract
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic affects not only the physical and mental health of women, but also the sexual health of women. However, in Vietnam, there have not been many studies on female sexual dysfunction in the period after the COVID-19 epidemic. Objective: To determine the rate of sexual dysfunction and related factors in women of childbearing age who were infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Phu Nhuan district, Ho Chi Minh city. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 387 women of childbearing age who were infected with SARS-CoV-2 between 01/05/2021 and 31/12/2022, whose records were managed at Health Center in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City. All women who agreed to participate in the study were sent the FSFI questionnaire using an online form (Google Form). Results: The overall rate of sexual dysfunction among the women participating in the study was 57.6%, with the following rates for specific forms of dysfunction: Desire (92.2%), Arousa (82.7%), Lubrication (69.3%), Orgasm (73.6%), Satisfaction (81.9%), Pain (63.6%). Factors related to common sexual dysfunction were the age group 41 - 49 (PR*: 1.37; CI 1.06 - 1.76) and time after infection (p = 0.005). The overall prevalence of sexual dysfunction among women increased significantly after the COVID-19 epidemic.
