Abstract

Objectives: To survey patient characteristics and evaluate the results of antimicrobial prophylaxis in clean and clean - contaminated surgery. Subject and methods: Prospective study with clinic intervention on 142 clean and clean - contaminated surgery patients at the General Surgery Department - 105 Military Hospital from April 2022 to October 2022. Results: The mean age was 44.83 years old, the rate of comorbidities was 30.3%. The rate of antimicrobial prophylaxis in the whole group was 60.6%. There was no surgical site infection, the postoperative day of treatment was shorter in the group using antimicrobial prophylaxis than in the group using antimicrobial therapeutic (p<0.001). Conclusion: Using antimicrobial prophylaxis at the General Surgery Department - Military Hospital 105 for clean and clean-contaminated in clean and clean - contaminated surgery was safe and effective.
