Abstract

Objective: Determining the satisfaction rate of patients’ relatives in nursing care at the City Children's Hospital in 2022. Methods: A cross - sectional descriptive study was conducted on 210 patients’ relatives being treated at the City Children’s Hospital in 2022. A pre-designed questionnaire was used to survey the satisfaction of patient relatives about the patient’s reception, drug use, monitoring, and health education counseling of nursing. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. Results: The results show that the majority of participants are female, accounting for 71.9%, and the average age is 34 (±3,5) years old. The satisfaction rate of participants about nursing care in all fields is over 85%. In which,"Welcoming patients" accounted for the highest rate (89,7%), followed by "Health education counseling" with 88,6% and the "Using drugs and monitoring drug use” accounted for the lowest rate with 85,6%. The average satisfaction rate of patient relatives about nursing care is 88%. The factor with the lowest satisfaction rate belongs to “Ask for more help and thank you” with 75,2%. Conclusion: Generally, the nursing inpatient care of the nurses at the City Children's Hospital was evaluated quite well by patient relatives. However, the rate of failure is still high in the criteria "Using drugs and monitoring drug use" and "Welcoming patients". Hospitals, Nursing Departments and other stakeholders need to have an appropriate strategy for nurses to promote the criteria that have been performed well, and propose measures to improve the criteria that are still limited.
