Abstract

Objectives: We conducted this study to describe the clinical characteristics of patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis (LS) before surgery. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 35 patients diagnosed with LS, surgically treated during the study period (1/2021-12/2021) at the Department of Orthopedic and Spinal Trauma - Bach Mai Hospital. We extracted all subject information from the patient's medical record. Results: The mean age of the patients was 53.29 ± 12.21 years old (31 - 76 years). Regarding functional clinical symptoms, the mean back VAS score of the patients in my study was 5,2 ± 1,48, and the average leg VAS score was: 4,5 ± 1,24 points. The average ODI score is 49,28±12,16 points. Regarding physical symptoms, 20 patients (57,1%) had signs of nerve root irritation (positive Lasègue test). In this study, 26 patients (74,3%) had symptoms of paraspinal muscle spasticity, 30 patients (85,7%) had symptoms sensory disturbance. Conclusion: The control study has provided information on clinical symptoms of patients with 1- segment LS before transforaminal lumbar interbody and fusion using minimally invasive spine surgery.
