ĐÁNH GIÁ HIỆU QUẢ KHI CHO BỆNH NHÂN TỰ THỞ TRONG QUÁ TRÌNH CHẠY VA-ECMO

Abstract

Objective: to evaluate the efficacy of permitting patient spontaneous breathing during VA-ECMO treatment. Methods: the study included 29 patients with VA-ECMO treatment who were extubated and spontaneous breathing at the intensive care center of Bach Mai hospital from June 2022 to September 2023, the patients were monitored for respiratory status, hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), effective on patient outcomes. Results: Extubation was performed in 51.8% (29/56) of patients with a success rate of 82.8% (24/29). After extubation, patients still maintain stable gas exchange on arterial blood gases. The rate of occurrence of HAP occurred in 13.8% (4/29) of patients, the duration of mechanical ventilation was 2[1-16] (days), the duration of sedation was 1 [1-5] (days), and duration of analgesic is 2[1-14] (days). Conclusions: Extubation for patients during VA-ECMO treatment achieve have a high success rate, maintain stable gas exchange, reduce the rate of HAP, and improve patient outcomes.
