SATISFACTION WITH THEORETICAL AND CLINICAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT OF NURRSING STUDENTS AT HAI DUONG MEDICAL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Objectives: To describe satisfaction and associated factors with the theoretical and clinical learning environment of nursing students at Hai Duong Medical Technical University. Methods: To use a descriptive cross-sectional design with sample size of 335 nursing students at Hai Duong Medical Techinical University from October, 2021 to May, 2022. Nursing students' satisfaction of the theoretical learning environment were assessed using the Vietnamese version of the Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (V-DREEM). The Vietnamese version of Clinical Learning Environment Inventory (V-CLEI) were used to measure nursing students' satisfaction with the clinical learning environment. Results: The mean total scores of nursing students' satisfaction about the theoretical learning environment was 127 (101-165), the clinical learning environment was 69 (48-94). There was a statistically significant differences between gender (Mann-Whitney U= 5734, p= 0,007) and nursing students' satisfaction with the theoreticallearning environment, gender (Mann-Whitney U= 5355, p= 0,001) and year (Mann-Whitney U= 6689, p< 0,001) nursing students' satisfaction with the clinical learning environment. Conclusions: Nursing students at Hai Duong Medical Technical University had positive satisfaction with both theoretical and clinical learning environment. There was a statistically significant differences between gender (p< 0,05) and nursing studnets' satisfaction with the theoretical learning environment; gender, year and nursing students' satisfaction with the clinical learning environment.
