Abstract

Objectives: Analyzing the prognostic value of the CVT-RS scale in patients with cerebral venous thrombosis. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study of 60 patients with cerebral venous thrombosis was treated at the Neurology Center of Bach Mai Hospital from June 2019 to June 2020. Results: The majority of patients had CVT-RS scores <3 points (76.6%). The most common factor in the CVT-RS score is intracranial hemorrhage (58.3%), followed by male (51.7%). Factors such as a Glasgow score < 9 points, mental disorders, and intracranial hemorrhage are related to a mRS score >2 points with P < 0.05. The CVT-RS score was evaluated at the time of patient discharge to determine the ability to predict clinical recovery at a good level (AUC from 0.8 to less than 0.9), especially 100% of patients have a CVT-RS score of 5 points with poor clinical recovery. The CVT-RS score ≥3 points has poor recovery at discharge (mRS>2) with sensitivity 77.8% and specificity 86.3%; OR = 22.0, (CI 95% (3,776–128,164) (p<0.05). Conclusion: The CVT-RS score can evaluate and predict the severity, disability, or mortality of cerebral venous thrombosis patients.
