DENTAL CARIES AFFECTS THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN 4-5 YEARS OLD CHILDREN AT THANG LONG PRESCHOOL

Abstract

Research on the quality of life affected by caries was performed on one hundred and fifty-eight 4-5-year-old children from Thang Long preschool. Results: the prevalence at which dental caries affected the life quality of both children and their family were relatively high (89.2% and 72.2%, respectively). The most common complications are pain (66.5%), eating difficulty (68.4%), and drinking difficulty (62.7%), with an average ECOHIS score of 5.95. Parents mainly were ‘upset’ and ‘financially affected’ (53.2%) by their children’s dental issues, with an average ECOHIS score of 2.55.
