Abstract

Objectives: To descride Clinical features and treatment results of of the urethral dehiscence after hypospadias repair at VietDuc university hospital. Material and method: Retrospective case series, 83 patients with urethral dehiscence after hypospadias repair at VietDuc university hospital from January 2016 to June 2022. Results: Classifying urethral dehiscence: 70 initial surgeries (84,3%) and 13 recurrences (15,7%), according to the level: simple 89,2%, complicated 10,8%. All must create a urethral segment with an average length of 2,6±1,7 from 0,8 to 4,5cm. Glans dehiscence 36,1%, penile shaft 24,1%, and both glans and penile dehiscence 39,8%. Follow-up period ranged from 3 to 92 months. The overall success rate of surgery is 72,3%. Postoperative complications were 23 cases (27,7%), recorded 15 cases of urethral fistula (18,1%), 8 cases of glans dehiscence (9,6%). Conclusion: Urethral dehiscence is a difficult complication after hypospadias surgery, the rate of complications after surgery is still high, it is necessary to accurately assess the disease to come up with appropriate treatment methods.
