EFFECTIVENESS OF HEALTH EDUCATION ON NUTRITION FOR PATIENTS WITH ACUTE PANCREATITIS

Abstract
Objectives: Evaluate the effectiveness of nutritional health education programs for patients with acute pancreatitis. Methods: The Quasi-Experimental Study, a group of 44 patients with acute pancreatitis treated at the Department of Gastroenterology, Gia Dinh People's Hospital from November 2020 to April 2021. The patient will receive health education on nutrition regimen and participating in the survey before the intervention and 1 month after discharge. Results: Patients with acute pancreatitis hospitalized with an average age of 46.39 ± 14.36. Male gender accounts for 75%. Average score of nutritional knowledge of patients before health education was 10.7 ± 2.5 points, lower than 14.3 ± 2.4 points after the intervention. The average point of compliance behavior of patients before health education is 14.2 ± 4.4 points and after health education is 22.7±3.1 points. The change was statistically significant with p<0.001. Conclusions: The nutritional health education program for people with acute pancreatitis has significantly improved nutritional knowledge and adherence to the diet of people with acute pancreatitis.
