SOME FACTORS RELATED TO AWARENESS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE ABOUT ORTHODONTICS OF FIRST -YEAR MEDICAL STUDENTS AT HANOI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY IN 2022

Abstract

Cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 462 first-year medical students of Hanoi Medical University in 2022 is to determine some factors related to the awareness, knowledge and attitudes about orthodontic issues. We developed a questionaire to evaluate the awareness, knowledge and attitudes about orthodontics according to a 3-level Likert scale included 3 parts with 23 questions. This study shows that there were a few factors that related to  awareness, knowledge and attitude of  first- year medical students  about orthodontics and some   that did not related to the awareness, knowledge and attitude of  students. To reduce the impact of malocclusion in Vietnam, it is neccessary for appropriate educational measures to help build awareness, improve knowledge, and especially change the attitude of young people and the community about orthodontics issues.
