Abstract

Objective: Evaluating the effectiveness of interventions using reproductive health education communication on the cesarean section rate of intervention and control groups in Ca Mau province in 2022-2023. Methods: Controlled community intervention study on 950 pregnant women in Ca Mau province from June 2022 to June 2023. Pregnant women were divided into 2 groups: control group (non- intervention), intervention group with reproductive health education and communication. Evaluate the outcomes of cesarean section rates after 12 months of intervention. Results: After the intervention, the cesarean section rate in the reproductive health education and communication intervention group was 36.46%, a decrease of 6.94% compared to the cesarean section rate in the control group of 43.4%. Factors that significantly reduced the rate of cesarean section in the intervention group were pregnant women in urban areas, housewives, public employees, first-time pregnancies, and full-term pregnancies. Conclusions: Intervention using reproductive health education and communication reduced the rate of cesarean section after 12 months in the intervention group compared to the control group.
