Abstract

Introduction: Assessing professional values from the student's perspective can establish useful information to provide more effective strategies for integrating and using Professional values in ethical practice and forestry learning. ready. However, the Professional values of Nursing students remain untested in Vietnam. Objective: To survey perception on Professional values among Nursing students of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City and related factors. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study on 494 full-time Bachelor of Nursing students year 1 year 2 year 3 and year 4 in June 2022. The NPVS-3 tool is used to assess the professional value of Nursing students. The higher the score, the higher the professional value. Results: Students have a mean score of Nursing career value of 104.8 ± 11.9. There is a relationship between professional values of Nursing student and school year (F = 8.414, p < 0.001); learning experience on roles and concepts in nursing practice (t = 2.93, p=0.004); experience participating in a career-oriented program such as the experience bridge, International Nursing 12/05 organized by the department (t =2.82, p=0.01); By Nursing after graduation (t= 2.17, p=0.031). No statistically significant association was found between Professional values of Nursing Students and other students’ characteristics. Conclusions: Developing Professional values among Nursing Students is important because those values are a significant predictor of quality of care and career development. Research shows that Nursing Students have a high professional value. The students scored the highest from the care sector and the lowest from the professional field.
