CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WHO HAVE VOCAL CORD POLYP SURGERY WITH SOFT TUBE AT THE CENTRAL ENT HOSPITAL IN 2021
Main Article Content
Abstract
Vocal cord polyps are quite common among benign laryngeal diseases, accounting for about 19% - 31% of people who use voice professionally. The study was conducted at the National Ear- Nose and Throat (ENT) Hospital on 36 patients undergoing vocal cord polyp surgery using soft tubes. Results: Hoarseness is the main symptom, seen in 100% of patients. Feeling short of breath and tired speaking occurs in 80.6%. Vocal cord polyps increase disturbances in frequency and amplitude. Jitter and Shimmer indexes are both higher than the control group (Jitter in the disease group 0.996%, control 0.206. Shimmer in the disease group 7.125%, control 1.401%). Vocal cord polyps reduce HNR vocal harmonics (HNR in disease group 14,264 dB, control 23,938 dB). Early diagnosis and timely treatment are needed to improve the patient's voice and prevent complications.
